  I sometimes wonder what the world would be like if "Religion" had never reared it`s head.?

  can you imagine what the world of mankind would be like if their was never any concept of a god or religious beliefs ?.

  for the love of me i can`t ,maybe i don`t have an imaginative mind equipped well enough to do so .. how about you guys ?

  Religion is the remembrance displays at an accident. The cut piece of hair that is kept. The deep longing for a person that has died. It is the way that people comfort themselves over the loss with the belief that life goes on after death.

  It also becomes the tool others use to make money with, control others to gain an advantage and to make themselves rulers.

  It is also the curiosity of what and why combined with our desire to find an answer. Maybe in the not too distant future, the whole concept will change of what people need in their lives.

  I can only hope that religion as it is, as well as animosity towards other nations/races changes.

  Although Pacific Rim 1 & 2 is just a scifi movie, it has continued to try to show a world united against an alien race. Still have people's annoying quirks and money issues but I enjoyed the feel of the movie with international casts.

  JW Christians Are Supposed to be Good, BUT.....

  so, serving "the one true god" and being "in the truth" are supposed to make jw's better people.

  they are bringing their "truth" to people and that probably makes them feel that they are good to "worldly" people.but they do it to "get their time in.

  " they do it no longer in any life-saving mentality.

  They also find going out in service or standing by a cart, more important than taking care of elderly parents. We experienced that recently when we had to clean out our parents house. The righteous ones knew that the house was a health threat and wouldn't set foot inside - but they didn't seem to care that their JW mother lived in it. So while they were devoting their time to Jehovah, we were battling rats, rat poop and pee and mold and piles of clothing and old food.

  Only after we cleaned out the most of the house and pulled out rugs did they appear.
  

  Yeah for their spiritual goals.

  Song: The Life Of A Pioneer

  it struck me today how the lyrics to kingdom song 81 "the life of a pioneer" sound almost like a slave song from a plantation or something.

  what's also sad is, if you read, you'll notice that they sound not only like slaves, but slaves that are admittedly tired and worn out yet grateful to serve their governing body overseers master to prove their devotion to him.. very sad indeed..

  Nephew’s JW Fiancée Begins Conversion to Judaism Due to Passover Date

  it’s been a while since i posted, but for those who remember, i came on here to get some information about jehovah’s witnesses because i have a nephew who was getting engaged to a girl who was a jehovah’s witness and, along with some other sites, i was recommended this one.. since then we’ve been busy with passover and jehovah’s witnesses have had something they call the memorial of christ’s death (i believe i have that right).

  this clashing of the two observances apparently did more for this girl than anything else i ever saw in our months of conversations with her.. respectfully, jews do not proselytize.

  these are people who, of their own desire, “join the tribe” after some years of study and practice--something this girl has just begun to do.

  This information is rather confusing. I know Rabbi M is gone but maybe someone else can answer. Is she saying that being a Jew is like being Irish? In the sense that you are born to Irish parents that have a culture and traditions - but don't necessarily have anything to do with religion? I guess when you think of a Jewish person, you automatically associate it with the Jewish religion. There are of course varying degrees of that religion. Some rather strict.

  And if you compare it to the Catholics, Mormons and even some JW's, some drift along with most of the religious ideas but not all of them. My grandma was a Jack Mormon.

  I guess you could view Rabbi M's posting as sort of "Hey, another JW escaped from JW land, it can be done!" But it could also be for a variety of other reasons. Just talking to myself now.

  Cart witnessing at the Toyota Grand Prix

  picture 185,000 people on the streets attending the biggest event in long beach.

  there is a main downtown street which is the only way into the grand prix.

  it’s chaos because it is not private property that can be contained; these are working boulevards with cars and people vying to get where they want to go.

  Cancer in Animals

  we were taught sickness and death is a result of the sin inherited from adam and eve, so why do animals get cancer?

  they are supposedly still as big j intended, so therefore cancer is a creation by the big fella himself?.

  just an exercise for one's who believe in the whole bible story thing.. (not me)... any others anomalies you can think of ?

  The cancer thing in animals will be explained away by JW's by saying it was Adam and Eve's fault. They raised imperfect sinful children who ruined the earth with chemicals and so made the animals sick.

  I just think that there is examples where God does things he tells us not to do. Like when he was chastising the israelites about blaming the children for what the parents did. Um isn't that what you did when you cursed A and E, effectively cursing all the children born to them? Children who didn't eat a forbidden fruit?

  I don't have the ability to post the sources but, the phrase "Millions now living will never die" was changed in more modern quotes to say "Millions now living may never die" They did it in text as well as the picture being edited if i remember correctly. The modern version was in the Proclaimers book I think but could be wrong.
  

  There is also the infamous quote in the 1995 awake that changed from having the statement at the bottom saying it was the creators promise that those who saw the events of 1914 - oh man, can't quite remember it. But basically it promised Armageddon before the 20th century. Then later in that year it changed to a wish washy statement. But the way to see it is to look in the bound volume of awake 1995.

  Why do Jehovah's Witnesses always answer questions through the bible?

  hi.. recently i've been researching jehovah's witnesses and their beliefs and found out that they don't believe in blood transfusions.

  so, i've asked one of my friends who is a jw as to what is the reason for this, and so far, they had always directed me to a bible verse that is in their bible.. clearly, i wasn't getting anywhere and so far, it's pretty much frustrating to even make my friend give me reasonable reason.

  when i was getting somewhere, even a smidgen, they would answer with a question.

  If you are "born" into the truth, it's the only thing you've known. If that is the case with your friends, then offering a different glimpse of the world - not the dark and gloomy gray glasses of the WT doctrines - can sometimes help. Positive experiences that go against what the WT likes to pound into the heads of the followers.

  I can tell when the witness at work, is thinking of how to say "the world is getting worse and worse" That is what all witnesses are trained to do when "witnessing" The last time she told me that, I said "Well then, go back and live in Roman times" That ended her little speech. Would she like to live in that time period? No. It brings to mind the unknown diseases, wars, and slavery. A few days after me saying that, I heard her trying it out on someone in the office. He counteracted by saying he believed there is far more good in the world than bad. He refused to give into her "the world is terrible and it will only get worse" line. She finally gave up. Will it change her mind? Only if she is willing. The old adage "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink" applies.

  And that is what may happen with your friends. If they are happy with what the religion gives them, or they are afraid of losing their place in paradise, all your efforts will fail. But it doesn't hurt to try.

  Good friends love their friends unconditionally and respect boundaries and their decisions, and love them anyway. Just sayin'.

  Good friends also warn them about dangerous situations and con men. Because they love them.
